Tintola Cavy Stud

Founded in 2001, Tintola Cavy Stud is dedicated to the unique New Zealand Peruvian.  Having bred and exhibited these beautiful longhairs as a child, the breed has always held a special place in my heart. Around 2015, seeing that they were teetering on the edge of extinction, I knew I had to step back in.

Tintola is managed by Jen (who also serves as the club secretary) and operates in close partnership with the long-running Mamaku Cavy Stud.  We are the home of Tintola Ace, a NZ Peruvian who achieved Reserve in Show at the Nationwide Cavy Show in 2022.

Established in 1992, Mamaku Cavy Stud is a family legacy built on a deep devotion to the New Zealand Plume.

This NZ heritage breed has been an irreplaceable part of our family for over three decades.  Our family remains 100% committed to the preservation of our NZ pedigree breeds.  We believe it is crucial New Zealanders rally behind our kiwi created breeds.

Based in Wellington and managed by Olivia, Marquess Cavy Stud is heavily involved in the NZ cavy fancy, with Olivia serving as the Secretary of the Capital Cavy Club.

As a dedicated Community Educator for our club, her stud focuses on saving the Panda and Dark-Eyed (DE) White breeds.  Marquess is also home to Grand Champion Marquess Panda-monium, a standout Crested Panda.

The stud is proudly home to Wai Guinea Snow Shoe, a celebrated cavy who has won many awards on the show bench.
