OFFICIAL NZCJA POINTS SCALE & BREED STANDARD
Side Ruffles (25 Points): Balanced, leaving good width over the shoulder.
Bonnet (20 Points): Extending forward between the ears to form the signature hood.
Body Top (15 Points): Smooth, reverse growth of hair flowing toward the front.
Rosettes (10 Points): Sitting well back on the hips (one to three rosettes), preferably one.
Belly (10 Points): Characterised by a distinct, uneven ruffle.
Ears (10 Points): Large, extending sideways and slightly drooping, giving the effect of an extension to the bonnet.
Type & Condition (10 Points): Overall structural conformity, coat health, and peak show presentation.
REMARKS & JUDGING CRITERIA
Whilst not mandatory, the best visual effect is often given by a single hip rosette. Either way, judges must look for overall symmetry and balance.
OFFICIAL PENALTY FAULTS
Points will be systematically deducted according to the severity of the following faults:
Coat Anomalies: A quiff or stray hair located between the hip rosettes, or a suggestion of a ridge on the centre back.
Structural Imbalance: Side ruffles positioned too low on the body, placed too close to the shoulder, or appearing visually unbalanced.
Bonnet Disqualifications: The signature bonnet standing upright to give an undesirable "surprised" look, or a bonnet finishing incorrectly behind the ears.
